Chlorine and sunscreen. The second I smell that combination, I’m back at the neighborhood pool in the middle of July with wet towels everywhere, somebody yelling “no running,” and a bag of chips that somehow tasted better after swimming all afternoon. Summer had a very specific smell when I was a kid.

Some days in the Neighborhood of Misfits, everything goes exactly according to plan. We haven’t had one of those days yet, but I’m told they exist. For now, somebody has misplaced a wrench, there are crumbs where there definitely shouldn’t be crumbs, and I’m pretty sure Glitch just had another idea. So… normal day in the neighborhood.

Stopped at one of those old neighborhood breakfast places this morning. Eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee. Nobody put avocado foam on anything. Perfect.
