Chlorine and sunscreen.
The second I smell that combination, I’m back at the neighborhood pool in the middle of July with wet towels everywhere, somebody yelling “no running,” and a bag of chips that somehow tasted better after swimming all afternoon.
Summer had a very specific smell when I was a kid.
