Grandma Moses: A Life of Simple Beauty

Discover the life and work of Grandma Moses during a free Bedford Historical Society presentation on Friday, September 11, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Presenter Daniel Drew will share selections from his collection of more than 200 items connected to the celebrated American artist, including an original painting. Revisiting History with the Dunhams

Step inside Bedford life in the 1830s during “Revisiting History with the Dunhams.” The Dunham House opens Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tours and stories about Hezekiah and Clarissa Dunham, Bedford’s first family, and the creation of our historic public square. Tea and light bites will also be served.

Bedford State of the City Address

Bedford Mayor Stan Koci and City Manager Mike Mallis will present the 2026 State of the City Address on Tuesday, September 15, at the Ellenwood Center. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with the address beginning at 12:30 p.m. Attending without lunch is free and open to the public. Lunch reservations have closed, but late availability may be checked through the City Manager’s Office at 440-735-6514.

Old Time Bedford Residents - Questions & Local History

Who qualifies as an “Old Time Bedford Resident”? Lifelong Bedford resident and former Bedford City Schools teacher Bret Johnson will share stories about familiar, and not-so-familiar, people who helped shape the community. Residents are encouraged to bring their own Bedford memories. The free program begins at 7 p.m. October 9 at the Old Church Community Room. Refreshments will be served.
